Unfortunately a task is not the same as an appointment. A task is manly used for project management. keeping track of other co-workers jobs and assigned projects.
Calendar appointments are greatly used for scheduling conference calls, meetings, doctor appointments, even employee shift schedules.
I understand you wish the time stamp of a task from start to estimated finish time to be seen within a calendar. this feature is really only used in Outlook 2010 where a separate task box is shown near the bottom of the calendar screen not shown in the calendar.
