Default Saving to Sent items

Is there a way to make zimbra save items sent using an external application?

e.g. if I've got evolution/outlook/etc. setup to send items from the smtp on my zimbra host?

It's functionality that I've seen with gmail that want to use for a particular task I'm doing at the moment.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks
Martin

if you're using imap, i know outlook has an option to save sent items to a folder on the server, think it's under the advanced properties of the account

it's using pop and smtp and I can't change it unfortunately. The examples were just to be clear on the approach, it's not exactly what I'm doing.

I've just created an RFE for this functionality. If you'd like to see it included, you might want to vote for it.

Would help if I included the link. Here it is: Bug 65557 - "save to sent" option for authenticated clients
