Default search folders and imap

hi!

i have some search folders. e.g. to show all marked messages in my inbox.
when using imap i can also use this search folders. but when i mark an email in my inbox the search folder does not show the newly marked email.
i see the newly marked email only when i restart my imap client.

zimbra webmail shows this new message immediately.

how can i achieve this with imap?
i'm using kmail and thunderbird.

thanks,
//richard

Perhaps nobody know the answer to this '...simple question', you haven't really given much information about the features of the client(s) you're using.

For instance, do they have the ability to update their view as new mails arrive? If they do, does it work when connected to another mail server? Have you tried using ZD & beta 2 as the client and if you have, does that work correctly. FWIW, I get instant email updates using Thunderbird.

sure.
the problem affects only search folders.
new emails within "real" folders appear immediately.

i don't have another mailserver which supports such search forlders as zimbra does...

ZD is only the zimbra webmail. thus, it works.

Oh real folders of course. I could be wrong but I wouldn't expect search folders to be updated as they're already emails in the system and not affected by IMAP IDLE (which is what's used for 'real' folders). I think you might have to file an RFE (and/or a support case) in bugzilla for such a feature.
