No People Search autocomplete on japanese kanji

Hi:

The autocomplete function won't work with japanese kanji characters in IE (all versions).

The only way to force autocomplete is:
enter name in hiragana
hit "space" bar to convert to kanji
hit "space" bar
hit "backspace" key

I'm running:
Release 7.0.0_GA_3077.RHEL5_64_20110127201852 RHEL5_64 FOSS edition.


Is this a bug?
