| | | Timezone in Preferences doesn’t update the time stamps of existing / new mails Dear All,
I am using Release 6.0.10_GA_2692.RHEL5_64_20101215170845 CentOS5_64 FOSS edition.
When as a user I update my timezone, it does not update the time stamps of existing / new mails or show a different time zone in my emails and calendar invites.
The servers default timezone is set to a different zone and I want to set my timezone to different zone.
Please help.
Regards

| | | So, how do I know that my TimeZone hs changed ?
The time and date on my existing emails should chage the moment I change my TimeZone.

What do you actually mean by this statement: Quote:

| | | Bill,
Thanks for the quick replies.
So, let me put it this way.
What will TimeZone change do ?
My expectations after changing the TimeZone from (GMT+05.30) Chennai / Kolkata / Mumbai / New Delhi to (GMT-05.00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) were as follows.
a) The date and time of my emails(old and new) will be shown in EST
b) All my calander entries will be shown in EST
c) When I send a calander invite, it will show my time zone as EST

| | | Let me clarify a little bit more.
When I say changing the TimeZone, I am talking about the TimeZone option available in Zimbra webmail under Preferences Tab.
So when I change my TimeZone in Zimbra webmail, I feel all the emails which are present in my inbox should change their Timestamp and should show me as per the a new timezone, also my calendar and calendar invites should show my new TimeZone.
Hope this clarifies the doubt that I am not talking about my laptop/desktop Timezone, I am talking about the TimeZone in Zimbra webmail.

| | | Just tried it, in web client, if I change the timezone in preference, then go back to inbox, the time in the 'Received' column didn't change. Even after re-login. |

Here's the quote: Quote: Changing your default time zone
The default time zone setting that is displayed in the Preferences>General folder is used to localize the time for received messages and calendar activities in the standard web client.
When using the standard web client, the time zone on the computer is not used to set the time a message is received or for calendar activities; the time zone setting in the Preferences>General tab is. However, when using the advanced web client, the time zone setting on the computer is used to as the time stamp for received messages and for calendar activities, not the time zone setting on the General tab. Note: Because the advanced web client and the standard web client do not use the same time zone source to render messages, you may notice that the same message has a different time when displayed in one or the other client. You can avoid this by having the computer time zone and the web client time zone set to the same time.

| | | Bill,
Thanks a ton for helping.
One quick question.
Is there any way to make the Advanced web client to take the TimZone as Standard web client ?
