Smile Firefox rightclick problem - Solved!

Hi,
I've been testing Zimbra on both Firefox (v1.5.0.7) and Internet Explorer (v6.0.29) and I've been having problems in Firefox. Although the mail client loads, nothing happens when I right click over the different elemenst - e.g. when I right click over the calendar in IE I get the option to 'Share Calendar', 'Edit Properties' etc. - in Firefox, nothing happens.
Are there any settings that need to be changed for this functionality to work? I've checked the Javascript settings on Firefox and enabled everything possible. Any help is appreciated, otherwise I'll have to use IE (Nooo!).
Kevin

There should be no problems running it with FF, it's working quite well on my system with FF1.5.0.7 - which version of Zimbra have you got installed? Have you got any extensions installed in FF that may be causing this? Try disabling any extions (if you have any installed) one by one and see if any of the are causing the problem.

I forgot the obvious have you cleared the cache and restarted FF and which o/s is this on?

Hi,
As you suggested, I've just tried clearing the cache and disabling all the extensions but it still doesn't work. I'm running FF on MS XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2. I'm using Zimbra V4 OS, the newest version, downloaded last week.
Thanks for your help.

Hmmm, odd. Do you have access to the zimbra server? Can you see if this problem happens if you use FF on the zimbra server to access your mail? Do you have any anti spyware/adware or pop-up blockers on your xp system that may block this? Do you also have anything like Zonealarm installed as a firewall, that has a pop-up blocking feature if I remember correctly.

Glad it's working. You could try installing them one by one to see what's caused it and post a note back here, if you feel up to it.

Hi again,
I think it was an extension called 'mouse gestures' which I use with firefox - it allows you to draw gestures with your mouse (or tablet PC pen) to open windows/links etc. It works by right-clicking and then drawing on the screen which must create a conflict with the Zimbra right-clicks. Seems a bit obvious in retrospect!
Cheers,
Kevin

The following gesture extension seems to be working in my case:

Default I think I found a workaround

I Think I found an easy workaround for this, just hold the Alt key down when you right click on anything in Zimbra, this workaround works fine for me.

Good Luck.

Let me know if this works for anyone else.
