Default How to setup mac 2011 for zimbra

This is using zimbra 6.0.8. Few users are using macbook, with mac office 2011. I want to configure mac outlook so as user can send/receive mails via pop3/smtp, how to set it up? can show step-by-step? any manual instructions?

Why have you posted this in the Zimbra Connector for Outlook forum, according to your question you're not intending to use that are you? I'll move this to the correct forum.

You'd be better using IMAP and the mail submission port as 587 (you'll have to authenticate to send mail via that port) but as far as details go, you'll have to ask you email administrator what details you need to enter into the Outlook configuration.

Default Trying to set up Outlook for Mac 2011

I'm on a MacBook Pro running Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74).

I have Outlook for Mac 2011. I'm using Zimbra (but I don't know where to find the version number?).

I am trying to set up Outlook on my home laptop and my office laptop so that I can go back and forth seamlessly. Right now, I am setting it up on my home computer first.

I just set it all up and it seems to be working fine. I was testing how things would sync, like when I create a 'folder' on my Outlook - it does now reflect on my Zimbra account (when I access it via webmail to make sure).

However, I noticed that my 'sent' messages sync if I send them from the webmail zimbra. But if I send a message from Outlook, it doesn't show in the 'sent messages' folder when I login in to the webmail. How can I get 'sent messages' to sync to Zimbra, when sending from Outlook?

If you are using a POP3 configuration your not going to have certain things synchronize. You will need to configure an IMA connection to have subfolders to synchronize as well as sent items. remember outlook 2011 does not synchronize to Zimbra using the tool. Properly be worth downloading the desktop Zimbra client

Thanks for the reply SpiderTech! We are using IMAP, not POP3. I just emailed our IT guy to ask if I still need an IMA connection for the sent mail to sync...waiting for his reply. Is IMA still necessary if we are using IMAP? (if this is a stupid question, forgive me, I am not knowledgeable in this regard)

thanks
