Default Latest outlook update breaks SPA with IMAP/POP.

I have been getting calls from Outlook users this morning. Apparently, the latest update to Outlook breaks secure password authentication(SPA) with for IMAP and POP. Here is the fix.

Click on tools and select accounts. Double click on the zimbra email account. Uncheck the last item in the bottom left corner that says secure password authentication(SPA). Click next and finish.

This ins't really a permanent fix though. Anyone aware of a more permanent fix? As far as I can tell, this is only affecting Windows 7 users. I have several XP users running Outlook that do not have this problem with SPA checked.

It appears to only be outlook 2007 that has this issue. I have users under XP, Vista, and win7 that had this problem under 2007 and the update from 12/13/2010. I have tested outlook 2010 under XP and do not see the issue.

That is interesting. At my client, we are running office 2007 on all the machines and only the Windows 7 ones seem to be affected.

We are running ZCS network edition 6.0.9.

Outlook is setup to use IMAP with SSL port 993. Some are using POP port 995 with SSL. Outgoing set to authenticate on Port 465 with SSL.
