Default FOSS 6.0.9-FOSS Lost Emails

Hello, while tagging some SPAM and deleting SPAM from the SPAM folder, I have gone back into the Inbox and found that every email since July 2010 is gone. I cannot see how I would have accidently deleted all these emails, but is there anywhere in the system where I can recover them from?
Version 7 indicates that there will be the recover deleted email feature, but I do not see that in 7.0.0-BETA2, and I assume it is not a feature of 6.0.9
I have a backup from a few days ago, but I am more concerned why such a large volume of emails could be deleted so easily and obscurely?

there is no undelete in 6.x. I havn't played with it in the 7 beta yet but i imagine it's something that requires configuring and turning on before it shows up.

as for what happened to the e-mails, you'd have to look in hte mailbox.log to be sure. are you the admin of the system? do you have an email retention policy for the inbox?

Default FOSS 6.0.9-FOSS Lost Emails

Thanks for the reply. I am the admin of the system. I have actually reverted to a backup as I really needed those emails. I have taken a snap shot of the system after the losses, so I can run that up and take a look at the logs.
One thing I have found with Zimbra is the documentation is pretty poor, but I will take your recommendation and see if 7 Beta requires these settings to be explicitly turned on. Also, a retention policy should result in older emails being deleted not the most recent.

oh i misread your question. yeah it would be weird if only emails from july onward were gone, but you had older e-mails

if your'e still running 6, version 7's undelete won't help you i'm sure since the undelete function is something i'm sure you would have to have before the e-m ails were deleted.

still the mailbox.log would be your best source of information as to how the emails were deleted in the first place
