Default Search for no tag?

How does one search for all non-tagged items (mail, contacts, calendar items)?

I've tried:
  • tag:
  • tag:""
  • NOT tag:*
  • tag:<null>
  • tag:\0

Umm *blush* It appears I already did vote for that bug, so long ago that I forgot I did so.

As I asked in the bug, is there a reason why the UI has not been connected to the back end, already fixed more than five years ago? It baffles me, actually.

Just bumping the question about bug 444. I've asked in the bug and here what kind of obstacle there is for implementing this function. As I understand it the backend has the functionality already but it is not connected to the frontend. It is now almost six years since the backend work was done.

What is preventing connecting the back and front ends?
