Default [SOLVED] Questions on Briefcase and Documents...

I started to take advantage of both features and ran into issues. Reading through the threads it looks like the Document function is eventually going away and Briefcase is here to stay.

My problem as I have seen in several other threads is sharing of Briefcase folders. This is the problem I have and need to know which version of Zimbra does it function correctly in. I am currently on 6.0.

Any answer will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Please locate your Zimbra version by entering $set:get version into the search in ZWC, then put that in your Forum Profile.

What's the specific problem you're having? Please give steps to reproduce.

Zimbra Info...
Client Information
Client Version: 6.0.6_GA_2324.RHEL5_64
Client Release: 20100406150533
Build Date: 20100406-1515

1. Well I learned that after you create a document in Briefcase you can't change it. There is no save function. I don't get the reasoning behind not being able to save yet all the editing features are available.

2. The share Briefcase folder does not work.

3. The other problem is the sort feature doesn't remember your last sort. Like by name document.

Note: I abandoned Documents after reading it may be discontinued in the future that Briefcase was the direction Zimbra was going in.

I agree, the current situation with documents & briefcase isn't very good. That said, in a test, I created a new document in briefcase and then was able to edit it by right-clicking on it and selecting edit from the submenu. (And yes, you can save the document, although I'm seeing a glitch where the saved copy isn't always visible in the Briefcase.)

Shared Briefcase is working for me. ZCS 6.0.8 (P3). There were a number of briefcase-related fixes in 6.0.7 and 6.0.8. See pm.zimbra.com.

Sorting issue looks like a bug. You could report it in bugzilla.

My understanding is that the Docs & Briefcase functionality will be merged, so it's not so much that Docs will be abandoned. I believe that anything you currently have in Docs will be migrated into the new location when you upgrade. But I can't find anything authoritative about this right now.

I will have to do the update and see where it goes after that.

I will report it in the Bugzilla.

The docs and briefcase is a handy feature if I can get it to work well. Especially with all my network documentation.

Thanks for your response.
