Original email address after mail forward missing

I've configured an email address with auto-forwarding to an external e-mail address. So all mails from e.g. abc@my-domain.com will be forwarded to abc@hotmail.com. I receive the mail on the hotmailaccount, but the originator is abc@my-domain.com instead of the originator of the mail. So no way to know who to reply to. Is there any way how to resolve this issue. How can I get the original e-mail address in the forwarded mail?
