Default Cannot configure RSS zimlet

I've tried adding my own feeds to the new (?) RSS feed reader in Zimbra 4.0GA without success.

The zimlet works fine on it's defaut settings, but when I enter an address in the preferences and try to load that, I get the message: "Unable to load RSS Feed: {address}"

The addresses I've tried are:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline...t_page/rss.xml
http://www.theregister.com/headlines.rss

are these not valid forms? Has anyone else got it working?

DId you add the domains you've listed to the proxyAllowedDomains in the config_template.xml and reconfigure the zimlet? Tomcat restart may be required.

Funnily enough, I missed that phase out of the configuration! Adding those domains would be an admin function, right? But I thought the RSS feed reader was a user level tool. Shouldnt it be capable of configuring this access itself? Come to that, how could I know this was even needed.

Is there a way to open the rss reader so it can access any domain? if not it's basically useless unless its only purpose would be for use within a locked down environment.

I know it's not a core element, or perhaps even a supported one, but if it's shipped with the core distribution, I have this annoying habbit of expecting things to work

Allowing arbitrary web fetches through the proxy is a bit of a security hole, which is why we have teh allowed domains thing in the first place - but adding * to the allowed domains might work.
