I like to share something I discovered by accident and have no idea how this works.

Zimbra server:
6.0.7_GA_2473.RHEL5_20100616214455 CentOS5 FOSS edition

iPhone iOS 4.0.2

When I create a note on my iPhone, it appears in the mailfolder Notes.

On my iPhone:
mail: IMAP
iCal: CalDAV
IM+: Jabber

I think mail is the one. I see those notes on my iMac as well.

tried with my phone, OS 3.1.2, Zimbra 6.0.7 NE, and cannot get notes to appear in that folder using IMAP or Caldav.
Must be a feature of OS4
interesting to note that using caldav, I can see shared calendars though, as I couldn't see them with Activesync.

There is a "Sync Notes" option in the iPhone, so it pushes them up to the mail server (Gmail, Exchange, IMAP, MobileMe...)
