Default show date AND time in Mail-preview

    hi,

i pretty sure, there was a discussion a while ago to show date and time in mail-preview. but i am currently unable to find it.

currently zimbra shows the time if the eMail is from today and the date if the mail not from today.

does there exist a setting to show always date and time?

    best regards
    thomas

I found no preference that toggles the time function on or off. There might be a Zimlet that might perform this task, however when i selected a mail then selected the "launch in a separate window button the data and time the message was created or sent appears in the upper right hand corner of the message.

    hello SpiderTech,

i know there is the actual date, the date in the preview is also not the eMail date, than the deliverydate to zimbra.

But the users wishes to see the eMail date/time in the preview, like Thunderbird does.

    lets see

Unfortunately, I have searched, poked and prodded my Zimbra mail console and admin console. The only place I found that displays any date and time, like a read recipe option would, was when you opened the message in a new window.

It appears Zimbra does not have this function to have the date and time the message was sent, read or and other functionality found in Thunderbird and in Outlook.

    Best Regards,

Perhaps the original posters question is poorly phrased(?) but the Mail Preview pane does actually show the Date & Time the message was sent (for the Sent folder) and Received for other folders.

    Default Maildate

    Bill,

I guess the question does not relate to the preview itself. Please check your .png-file you added to this tread and take a closer look on the dates listed above the preview box. Here you will find inclomplete dates like "08 Aug." The question ist how can I convert the dates to: "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM" format or any other format? Is there any good idea?

OK for the preview mode, but in the listing mode, just have the date or time if it is the same day, but want the entire date and time to be displayed...

Just to post the correct answer, because it took me few hours to find it myself and surprisingly Google do now knows it . So:
modify the line with ZM_formatDateMediumNoYear and formatDateMediumNoYear in files for language You use in folder /opt/zimbra/jetty/webapps/zimbra/WEB-INF/classes/messages with adding HH:mm for example

after zimbra restart - For me it works
