Default Zimbra on iPad question

Hi. We're loading Zimbra's AJAX edition on an iPad via the included Safari browser.

However, no matter what we do, we're unable to open an email; we can tap and select it. What's the finger gesture for actually opening an email? How about gestures for the calendar?

We can open the site in the Zimbra mobile edition and that works fine; but we'd like to use the AJAX version. We've not figured out the finger tapping. Any guides?

I just want to second the report of a problem.

Zimbra Ajax Webmail doesn't work very well with iPads. The version
of Safari that ships won't scroll frames, so you can't see entire
messages or mailboxes, and the Mobile version of Z offered at the
login screen doesn't offer all the buttons it should when used on an
iPad. (The mobile version is fine on an iPhone and on a regular PC,
just not on an iPad.) The Standard (HTML) version is basically
functional, but not the best user experience in the world.

Just wanted to add my two cents as well. My wife uses her iPad for zimbra and while actuvesync works well with the mail app, she occasionally needs to search for older emails and the lack of decent web client is not making her happy.

I read the bug report about the mobile client being fixed in 7.0, but the Ajax client would be better

Anyone tried installing OperaMini on an iPad and using that to access Zimbra?

OperaMini works extremely well on my crappy non-smartphone, using the mobile and html interfaces.

As just having recently installed zimbra 7 and testing it with my IPad i must conclude that this doenst work well. As previously already mentioned the mobile version works better then the ajax version but when having large email you cannot scroll the message. The ajax version doesnt show the full screen so that the scrollbar to scroll through the message list.

Really hope this is going to be fixed.

Try double-clicking, on an iPad -- sometimes works and sometimes doesn't -- eventually gets confused with text-enlargement, and freezes, only alternative then is to reload Zimbra -- I use gentle double-clicking to clean out my inbox conveniently, at least, sending files to folders and deleting. Zimbra really needs to fit iPad, tho, increasingly popular hardware -- Ajax is really close, just a few tweaks left.
