| | | 4.0 RC1, comments after an hours use I'm surprised! I thought the boards would be flooded with comments about the recently released Candidate.
I've installed it onto my home server for experimenting, I held off on trying the beta but I'm comfortable enough with an RC.
Questions so far are
1, where's the Zimbra Assistant (Tilde key CLI thing)
2, The content of the GAL dont show in the contacts section, does it need to be added to the account somehow? I can work around this by making a new calendar, filling it with the needed info and sharing it to everyone manually, but I'd assumed that the GAL would appear to all users automatically. I'll wait for RC2 and see what happens
3, Themes are painfully slow to apply, I think I'll need to take some screenshots and make them available for people so they can pick which one they want rather than spending the time cycling through them. (javascript changing of style sheet anyone?)
4, Stability seems outstanding, no problems so far
5, Installation was a breeze but it almost failed at the end. I'd deleted the default domain of hostname.domainname.tld becuase I regard that as an error. The domain is domain.tld, at the end of the install, after it starts the services the notbook feature and couple of others failed becuase it could not find the domain hostname.domainname.tld so I just created it again and re-ran the install and all went ok. I still dont understand why this happens though.
All in all, I'm well pleased, looking forward to getting my hands on the final code! |

Let me know if you figure out the GAL problem, I too am experiencing an issue like that. |

| | | Zimbra Assistant works fine on my system too. Neat feature, its kind of like quicksilver for Zimbra. Great release over all with me only having used it for 20 minutes.

| | Yes, another flawless upgrade. I installed the Release 4 about 12 hours ago and no problems so far.

I'll wait for RC2 and see what happens | There isn't an option to browse the GAL like a contact folder. You can do what you said and just create a share. We have added the ability when composing or creating new appointments to autocompelete from the GAL. This can be enabled in COS or via options. Quote: |

(javascript changing of style sheet anyone?) | Eventually we'd like to have a small thumbnail of the theme on the options picker. This would allow folks to see what they are picking. In general it's not something you will change every hour so the reload shouldn't be *that* painful. It's a bit more complex that just changing the style sheet. We actually let you change the underlying HTML layout, images, etc. So for some themes (and most of the samples) it's just a CSS change. However the scope of themes is much larger so we haven't spent the time to make it Quote: |

All in all, I'm well pleased, looking forward to getting my hands on the final code! | Well normally you'd not have a host.domain.tld and just create the default as mail.domain.tld it is a bit confusing in the installer so seems many folks trip up on this. |

| | | After spending more time last night checking it out, I've got to grips with the GAL thing. It will autocomplete the address from the GAL, which is great, but I dont understand why there's a section in the admin when creating a new account where you can key in the users phone number and other details, if the GAL cannot be browsed?
I think I'll just create and maintain a contacts folder and have everyone access it, this plus the GAL autocomplete should be just fine.
The zimbra assistant does appear when I seach on $set:a so I can check that out today, just so we are all on the same page, the normal way is to press the "~" key while zimbra has focus yes? The Tilde key, ~ is, on my UK keyboard on the same key as # so I press SHIFT-# to get ~. Sorry for the over-detail but it may be an internationalization issue.
Kevin, you are right, the skin thing isnt too bad and I forgot that it was changing more than the CSS (I realised this when I found the old Steel skin still in there) I'm just concerned that when it's rolled out all the users start logging in and out all day to change their colours! (yes I know I can lock them out of that section)
Also, the default domain issue is still something of a confusing one, but this isnt the right thread for it, I'll wait till GA and see if the minor issues I've been having with that have gone.
Still looks good so far, is there to be an RC2 ? |

| I have the same problem with a Belgium keybord.

Yes - all key shortcuts are configurable using a keymap. Keyboard nav is yet another feature in 4.0
| Where can I find the keymap?
Found 2 bugs when using other language file with non us date format. bugzilla # 9975 Zimbra Assistant only understands us date format. Bugzilla # 9977 error in 'repeat' -> 'custom' calendar when not using us date format |

Where can I find the keymap? | We haven't i18n'ed keyboard nav yet. That'll appear probably in the next major release.
The keymap for DWT controls is in DwtKeyMap. js, and the one for the client is in ZmKeyMap. js.
