Default Zcs 4.0 Rc1

Hi,

Just wanna know:-
1. What are the new features in ZCS 4.0 RC1? Does it have the highly wanted personal distribution list?
2. Can I install it in production use?

THanks.

1) Basically the same feature set as 3.2 (so no personal distro lists yet), but with additional bugfixes, stability.

2) We don't recommend it for production yet. Still some issues that we are working on addressing.

Hi,

Will it be able to support IE 7 beta 2?

Also my whole company is asking me about personal distro list, I have voted for it thru the support side, but if you can tell me when it will be out, it is much better for my colleagues when they ask.... Thanks.

We can't officially support a moving target (IE 7). In general we try to keep up but it won't be QA certified or supported officially until IE 7 is stable and releases. That said, you should encourage folks to test with IE 7 beta's and report any issues you find into bugzilla. A couple folks in the office had had some success, but I'm sure there are more bugs to be found.

Smile Why no Personal Distribution Lists in Zimbra 4?

Hey Kev,

Why no Personal Distribution Lists in Zimbra 4? This is an important feature and one my customers want.

What will it take to make this a priority for Zimbra?

Cheers

The best way to push this as priority is to vote for it in bugzilla. From reading other posts Zimbra is actively working on personal distribution lists and it is a priority for them. And from what I understand, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, Zimbra is close to having completed this feature.

Yep it's high on the list so we'll hope to get it into a future release. We pull from the top of the list but not always in order. Lots of work went into shared contacts and GAL this time but we hope to get personal distro lists in there sooner rather than later. Just not 4.0.
