Default Leave Junkmail in Inbox

I have just changed my e-mail provider to Simply Mail Solutions which use the Zimbra Collaboration Suit. I changed because my old provider (Virgin Media) forced customers to move to Google Mail which meant that I had to use Webmail to manage it instead of POP3 via Outlook which I have been using for years.
I want to continue using POP3 via Outlook but now find that the Junk mail in Zimbra mail automatically goes into the Junk folder and cannot be picked up by Outlook, so I still have to use Webmail to fully manage all my mail.
Is there any way to stop the Junk filters from putting suspect mail in the Junk folder and just leave it in the Inbox so that Outlook can pick it up and manage it?

There's no way for you (as a user) to do anything about the mail going into the Junk folder. You should change to IMAP, it's a much better experience than IMAP.

Thanks, but I tried IMAP and still prefer POP.

Just for reference GoogleMail can be configured to allow POP3 or IMAP access as-well as web.

But when working with Outlook, Google mail stores anything you sent via Outlook in the Google Mail Sent Mail folder and anything downloaded to Outlook is copied to the Google Mail Bin folder, so you still ave to use Webmail to manage it all.

What I want is EVERYTHING downloaded to Outlook and NOTHING left in Webmail.

Well nothing is 'left in Webmail', it's left on the server. The Web Ui is just an interface to the email that's on the server. You will only be able to get a limited amount of email from the server because you're use POP3, Zimbra is an RFC compliant POP server. If you want all the mail from your folders on the server downloaded then use IMAP. If you wish to discuss it further I'd suggest you contact the support at your hosting provider.

I think there's an rfe to allow filter before filing junk, which might help if implemented. As far as storing sent on the server, doesn't zimbra do that even with pop clients? There may be a user-accessible option to turn that off, though.

Zimbra does have a way to just mark spam in the header without filing it in junk, but (a) the option is not accessible to the user and (b) I think it applies server-wide. So you'll have to talk to your provider.

Yep that is correct. Prior to the sieve filters being actioned the server looks for
Code:
zmprov gcf zimbraSpamHeader
zimbraSpamHeader: X-Spam-Flag
and if that is set to YES it will drop it in the Junk folder. Only way to avoid that, AFAIK, is to change zimbraSpamHeader to something completely different.

Did a little digging in bugzilla....

Bug 7502 – Deactivate SPAM filter for particular users. is what the original poster wants (and should vote for).

Bug 12701 – Define a default filter rule for spam that users can apply before custom filters might also help.
