Default [SOLVED] Relay Access Denied Problem

Hi,

We have a problem with Outlook. We can't send mails from Outlook to Hotmail but we can send mails from Thunderbird or webmail to Hotmail.
So I think there is a problem with Outlook. In Outlook we get a relay access denied error.

We checked the log files and found:

Code:
May 12 16:24:00 mx postfix/smtpd[4563]: warning: 83.101.72.17: hostname ip17.91gen0-1.cityconnect.schedom-europe.net verification failed: Name or service not known
May 12 16:24:00 mx postfix/smtpd[4563]: connect from unknown[83.101.72.17]
May 12 16:24:00 mx postfix/smtpd[4563]: setting up TLS connection from unknown[83.101.72.17]
May 12 16:24:00 mx postfix/smtpd[4563]: Anonymous TLS connection established from unknown[83.101.72.17]: TLSv1 with cipher AES128-SHA (128/128 bits)
May 12 16:24:01 mx postfix/smtpd[4563]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[83.101.72.17]: 554 5.7.1 <testandries@hotmail.com>: Relay access denied; from=<andriessg@mail6.imm.be> to=<testandries@hotmail.com> proto=ESMTP helo=<FlipFlop>
May 12 16:24:04 mx postfix/smtpd[4563]: disconnect from unknown[83.101.72.17]
Thanks in advance!!

What MTA checks are you performing ? especially the one pertinent to only accepting FQDNs.

The restriction for reject_invalid_hostname is what you are hitting I believe. You can disable that via the Admin GUI -> Global Settings -> MTA.

I disabled the checkbox, without any result.

We can't send to any domain, except our own domain. (with Outlook)
In thunderbird everything works perfect!

Thanks in advance!!

Default Zimbra Relay Access Denied and How We Fixed It

Zimbra requires authentication and encryption when relaying email from external email clients like Outlook. Depending on your needs, here's a guideline that worked for us:

Choose your ports:
- Forward Port 587 through to Zimbra Server (Secure SMTP)
- Forward port 993 through to Zimbra Server (Secure IMAP)
- Forward port 995 through to Zimbra Server (Secure POP3)

In Outlook, configure the Outlook IMAP profile with the following settings:
- More Settings -> Outgoing Server: Choose to require authentication
- More Settings -> Advanced:
-- Incoming Server (IMAP):
--- Encryption: SSL
--- Port: 993
-- Outgoing Server (SMTP):
--- Encryption: TLS
--- Port: 587

I was also faced this issue. In my case this is because of some users using mailClients, which don't have TLS option. I just recomnd them to use TLS options in mail clients like in outlook.

Might your Problem because of some other issues in zimbra configuartion like mynetwork varible in postfix file, but here you will never able to add all network.
