Default [SOLVED] Zimbra in Firefox no longer opens pop-ups

Hi, I'm using Zimbra with Firefox v3.6 and always had the Firefox pop-up blocker set to allow pop-ups from Zimbra. I never had a problem getting messages to open in a pop-up window, but now they no longer do - instead, when I highlight a message and click the "Launch in a Separate Window" icon, Firefox opens the message in a new tab (this doesn't happen with Chrome or IE; the message opens as a separate pop-up as it's supposed to).

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Like I said, Firefox used to open the messages in pop-ups just fine, and I don't recall any change to my settings that caused it to all of a sudden just stop.

Here's my full Zimbra info:

Client Version: 5.0.20_GA_3127.RHEL4_64
Client Release: 20091102101712
Build Date: 20091102-1022

Have you recently installed any extensions that might modify this behavior? (TabMixPlus or any others like it)

I thought of that, but starting Firefox in Safe Mode (which temporarily disables extensions) didn't fix the problem. I did a complete re-install, and now it seems to be okay. I think it was the iMacros extension that messed things up, because I've put my other ones back and there's no recurrence of the issue.

Are there additional Firefox extensions known to interfere with Zimbra?

I don't know of any that interfere, I just mentioned TMP because I remember it changed the default way that tabs opened when I messed around with it a long time ago.

Have you checked the dom.popup_maximum value in Firefox (go into about:config)?

Ironically, this setting is enforced independent of your actual pop-up blocker preferences- so if you have 'compose in new window' selected in the preferences, your first 20 pop-ups from the Zimbra client will work fine but all subsequent ones will be blocked. Default setting is 20, you can set to -1 to disable completely.

The problem had resolved itself after a re-install according to the OP, I am marking the thread as solved. Interesting bit of info though
