shared calendar booking query

Just wondering about booking a meeting room using a shared resource.

We have a meeting room calendar and can book the room using this, if the room is free it accepts the booking if not it rejects it.

What I'm trying to do is book a weekly meeting each Wednesday for next 6 months in the Meeting room. But because the meeting room is booked for that time on Wed March 24th, it rejects it for ALL the meetings.

Surely it should reserve it for all the days it is available and just reject for the one day it isn't?
