Default Are large address books manageable?

Hi,

How large are your address books?
- Number of contacts in one address book?
- Number of address books per account?
- Shared address books?

We only have some hundred addresses, usually in a single address book that is not shared among users.

I'd like to know what your experiences are with large number of contacts, address books and sharing of address books. What numbers can still be handled easily?

regards,
Bernhard

Hi I move from exchange 2003 to zimbra. My experience are the public folder in exchange are more manageable than zimbra. Because in zimbra. The more contacts and address book you add. The more zimbra become laggy or slow response. You may notice it because internet explorer or firefox are trying to load all contacts in browser after few minutes it response script error. The address book in zimbra are easy to delete too and you only choice of backup are manually export it in .csv format. I use zimbra 5.0.14. Im in the process of upgrading zimbra to 6.05GA. I hope it improves performance in terms of address book.

I just imported more than 13.000 addresses from our address database and provisioned the address book to 4 users.

Everything still works smooth

Good morning,

I'm using this topic for asking my question :
I have a pretty address book (+- 17000 people). When I consult it, it's very fast. I don't wait more than 1 second between each pages.
Unfortunately, when I share it, people which consult it are very disappointed because it's veeeery slow (about 5, 6 seconds per page).

Do you know why it is so slow ? Is it a bug ? Had it been already reported on the bugzilla?

Thanks a lot for answer

What I'd like to see is a table view of the addresses,
similar to the thunderbird's address book.
