Default Feature Queries

Hi, we have Z3.1 running on Ubuntu Dapper and are in the process of transferring some live accounts onto it for some stress testing. A couple of issues have come to light so far - perhaps someone could point me in the right direction?
  • There appears not to be a "birthday" facility in the contacts / calender, or is there?
  • Is there any facility for shared mailboxes (as per Cyrus or Exchange?)
  • Cursor vanishes frequently, editing mail filters for example, should it ?
  • Is there a facility whereby we can "run filters now" on an existing folder?
  • When importing old mail (drag'n'drop from another imap account) it lists the "date" of the email as the import date, not the delivery date .. so I have a mailbox with 50,000 items all roughly the same date and time on them .. (!)

Any pointers would be much appreciated ..

If you use imapsync or any IMAP client other than Thunderbird to do the IMAP-to-IMAP copy, you won't have this problem. For some reason, Thunderbird refuses to set INTERNALDATE on APPENDed messages.

Ok, used imapsync as suggested. It probably is a better method, however it did take me ~ 36 hours of messing around to recover my corruptec mailbox after the import. (!)

Another feature request:: how about "Play a sound on new message" ??

Default Another request :)

Another feature request... if it doesnt already exist?

Can I send emails as one of my aliases?

For example, I am one of the admins on linux.co.uk, but all my mail comes into encryptec.net, (via aliases on Zimbra).

For example, if someone sends me an email to say, example@here.co.uk then I want to be able to reply as example@here.co.uk not myaccount@there.net.

Any help would be appreciated!

Johnathon

This is bug 509 (it's a Firefox bug). Check out the relevant Mozilla bugzilla entry -- it's fixed "on trunk builds", but I have no idea when this will show up on your desktop.

Please vote for these bugs in bugzilla. And remember to check for existing bugs before filing new ones!
