Question thunderbird mail notifications in subfolders

Hello,

i use Zimbra via web and additionally with thunderbird.
I have several folders in my inbox to organize incoming mails.
That's done by zimbra mail filters and works well.

The only thing, which doesn't work is the (automatic) email notification inside thunderbird, if there arrives an email which is directly sorted into a subfolder.

Thunderbird shows only new mails in a subfolder, when i click on the subfolder itself - so i have to check all folders regulary for avoiding to miss an email.

Each of the subfolders are subscribed.

Does anyone know a solution for this matter?

thanks & best regards,
Thomas

We noticed this too, and it got filed as bug 8431. As far as we can tell, this is a Thunderbird bug, and we're at a loss on how to work around it as well...

This option can be turned on in Thunderbird: Checking for new messages in other folders - Thunderbird - MozillaZine Knowledge Base

I agree with Rob. I use Thunderbird almost exclusively, and I have filters dropping messages in to several subfolders. If you right-click on the account name in the folder pane, choose the "subscribe" option, then tick the checkboxes for whichever folders you want notification on, you'll get it.

This is not a Tbird bug, unless you consider it a bug that a folder is not "subscribed" by default.
