Paste image from windows clipboard into webmail message (inline)

First, I'm a new (as of yesterday) Zimbra Webmail user, and brand new to this forum. If I've posted in the wrong place or otherwise incorrectly, please let me know. I've searched the forum for an answer to my question but find only responses that date back to 2007. This issue is pretty basic so I figured I'd ask about its current status.

The goal is to copy an image (.jpg, .png, etc.) to the clipboard and then paste it into an HTML formatted message so it appears inline with the text. I've been able to achieve the same effect by first saving the image and then attaching it and checking the little "appear inline" box, but that's painful compared to copy and paste. I don't know if the community considers this a missing feature or a bug, but it seems like something we need.

Hence, the question: am I missing a simple way to do this? Is something being worked on? If so, does anyone know the current status of this missing feature or bug?

I'm looking forward to a response.

Oh yeah ... we got it working. And I'll tell you how. Company-wide (around 350 users), we've dumped the Zimbra desktop and the Zimbra browser client and now use Outlook to access our Zimbra back-end server! Outlook 2003, because that's what we have licenses for. Although we love the functionality (and price) of the Zimbra server as compared to Exchange, I don't like the Outlook/Zimbra solution at all. I think it will find some way to bite us eventually.

If we knew then what we know now, we might have reconsidered going to Zimbra altogether. We haven't come across many issues but inability to cut and paste images inline into an HTML message was a deal-breaker.

Mmm.. this is obviously something that will happen.

Are you using the Outlook Connector with your Outlook Clients, or are you "just" using it as a "plain vanilla" IMAP/SMTP client/server setup?

We're using the Outlook Connector, Joho, and I have to say, it's working well. But my strong preference would still be for an all-Zimbra solution. I'm concerned about what will happen as both the Zimbra server and the Outlook client continue to evolve. I'm sure we won't be able to stay on the Outlook 2003 client forever. Any conversion to the then-current Microsoft client will cost then-current Microsoft dollars; probably more than we earn in a year. (Ok ... being a little facetious here. So sue me.) Not to mention all the increases in functionality we'll miss out on as the clients evolve.

So I wish we could have stayed with one of the Zimbra clients. But ...
