Default Problems with Firefox and Ajax

Hi all, from today I have problem to access to zimbra webmail with Firefox in Ajax mode.
When I access, I cant see the folders list, I only see a mail list and a calendar.
But in HTML mode I can see it correctly.
With Internet explorer I can see it in Ajax mode correctly.
Firefox version: 3.5.7 and 3.6.0
Zimbra version: Release 6.0.5_GA_2213.RHEL5_20100202220948 CentOS5 FOSS edition.

Thanks in advance
Darío
can some admin move this post to the correct forum? thanks

Try clearing your browser cache, FF 3.x & 6.0.5 works for me without problems.

I'll also move this to the correct forums as it isn't a Zimbra Desktop issue.

I cleared the cache yet, but problem continuous.
It occurs in two PCs, both with windows 7.
Edit
Only occurs in windows 7, in windows XP I can access without problems

I'm having the same problem, it renders incorrectly on Fedora 12 (FF 3.5.6) and CentOS 5.4 (FF 3.0.16).

Works fine in Windows XP (FF 3.6, IE6) and Windows 2003 (FF 3.5.5, IE8).

6.0.5 FOSS

I have 2 servers with the exact same setup and only 1 is doing this, only difference being this is a fresh install and the other I upgraded from 6.0.4 (which renders correctly).

I just ran into the same problem. Firebox would only partially load zimbra webmail page in ajax mode, but this was limited to 2 machines in the same subnet as the zimbra server. Another machine in a different subnet worked fine, and all used the latest version of firefox (3.6). Internet Explorer worked fine.

On problem machines, I found that using http://zimbra.example.com exhibited the problem. However, using http://zimbra worked fine. This lead me to the zimbra server's (CentOS 5) hosts file.

The solution:
In /etc/hosts, I now have

192.168.2.1 zimbra.example.com

instead of

192.168.2.1 zimbra.example.com zimbra

NOTE: I had to remove the alias from /etc/hosts and restart zimbra service.

This seems suspicious of a bug in zimbra whereby sometimes it serves up the host alias instead of the fqdn. But maybe it's just the way zimbra works...?

Default Good tip

Hello,

I encountered this problem few times as well.
Our server hostname is different than "mail".

The hosts entry lookeld like that:

10.0.0.1 servername.domain.com mail

So i changed the line this way:

10.0.0.1 servername.domain.com mail.domain.com

restarted zimbra and AJAX immediately started working again.

Thanx for the tip

That is incorrect, it should contain the following entries only (anything else is incorrect and will cause you problems):

Code:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
10.0.0.1 servername.domain.com servername

Thanx for the info.

In that case how to solve the Ajax problem if there is an alias to the server.

the hostname is:
servername.domain.com

but to make it easier for users I'd like to have alias called "mail".
