Adding an RSS feed of another users mailbox

Ok, we have an account setup that any misaddressed email is sent to. Some people just insist on spelling your name wrong or whatever, and rather than bounce those messages, we check this account and manually forward them when needed.

I have just now found that zimbra can read an RSS feed and can send an RSS Feed, so what I want to do is add a new folder in my account and have it subscribed to the rss feed of the inbox of the catchall account.

Does any of this make sense?

I've tried to do it of course, and it dont work, so any suggestions or comments of, "Yeah, that wont work" would be appreciated

Did you put the userass of the catchAll account in the rss url?

I used this url when trying:

http://user:pass@server:88/service/home/user/inbox.rss

Substituting italicised sections with real info. Now, this didnt work in a browser either, but if I remove the password stuff from the url and try in a browser, it asks for authentication and then offers me the rss file, trying with and without the password stuff in zimbra fails.

I could be flogging a dead horse here, is this even possible?

I just tried this on my local build and saw it work properly. (This feature was bug 5946.) Quick questions:

• Did you get an error message back when you tried this? If so, what was it? Was there a stacktrace in the server log?
• Did user contain an '@' sign? I think that using an '@' in the user:pass part of the URL would give you an invalid URL...

Hmm, well, I've just tried it all again with the url:

http://username:password@mail.domain...name/inbox.rss

Which worked find when I put it in as a URL, (a prompt to save the rss file appeared) but when I try in zimbra, I get the critical error message:

Content could not be retrieved. Make sure the following URL is a RSS/ATOM feed: 
http://username:password@mail.domain.co.uk:88/service/home/username/inbox.rss

I've changed the url here of course, but I've been careful not to introduce any errors.

Could it be something to do with the use of port 88?
The server is set with a default domain and so users log in using only the prefix (user, as opposed to user@domain.com) and I have used only the user name in the url.

It's running Zimbra 3.1.4 on Suse 10.0
Hate to admit this part but I dont know where to look for the stack trace (no message box with extra info appeared, I've seen these when there's a java error - so if you mean that part, then no, there was none)

I've been doing some more testing and find that I can wget the url from the zimbra server quite fine, yet when copy/pasting the url into the web client, it wont get it.

I suspect our firewall/proxy arrangement may be causing an issue and I'll have a look at it. After all, if it works for someone else it should work for me, so it's likely not a zimbra fault.
