mass mail with individual greetings

Hello,

we would like to send a mail to several persons(mass mail),
but it should be possible, to define an individual greeting
for each person.

Is that possible, or if not yet, how high is that feature
on the to-do list?

Sounds like you want a mail merge feature.

It's not currently available, but you could do a bugzilla request. I searched and didn't find anything.

I suggest you use a tool designed for this, such as PHPList (individual greeting, mass mailing, subscribtion handling, bounce handling, etc).

Do you have experience in exporting email-addresses stored in Zimbra
and import them in phplist?

2.
Would you use phplist as a standalone solution, or would you try to
use Zimbra as the mailserver?

If you search such an software to work under windows, i can also suggest to use
Worldmerge from coloradosoft. With this you can also send a dedicated attachement for each recipient !!!
