Default Best practice: free/busy info

Good morning all,

In order to finally get away from maintaining desk diaries/spreadsheets/wall calendars, and a Zimbra calendar, it would be helpful to have a simple way to do a free/busy search for a user/number of users from ZWC.

I know that I can get this from schedule view in a new appointment but the hope is that receptionists/department heads etc. will be able to do a quick lookup of who's in/out/free/busy.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how this might be best achieved?

Thanks in advance

Jon

For now, you could try sharing each person's calendar.

You might want to consider voting for Bug 36322 - ics freebusy feed and/or Bug 37836 - RFE: external web access to multiple users' free/busy times, viewable on a single page

The first would allow users to access free/busy info (only) in .ics form. You could then aggregate free/busy by subscribing to multiple "WebCal" feeds e.g. using iCal. It could probably also work with Lightning, Outlook, or certain web-based services.

The second would directly create an aggregated free/busy view for multiple users, in a web page.

The second option is the one for me! I've voted.
