I'm an OSE user who would like an affordable paid solution, unfortunately I also think Zimbra's business plan is entirely reasonable. Cheaper plans might increase revenue but hurt profit badly through increased costs.
There are other projects like Zarafa that might work? But I've never looked and have no idea how to get that to work with Zimbra.
Push email, contacts and calendar with Zimbra 6 Opensource & Z-Push – ActiveSync | slashdevslashnull.com – /dev/null
Ive written up my experiences of getting Z-Push working with Zimbra opensource, free push email, contacts and calendar.....
I realize this i an old thread, but I couldn't resist keeping my fingers away.
I really don't see the harm in some sort of really small license, like a developer license. I want to test real world scenarios, but in a small scale. I want to gain knowledge and know-how, how else can I persuade my clients that Zimbra is really really good and that they should definately switch from whatever solution they're currently using?
I'm not saying that Zimbra is any different from most others, regarding license obstacles. I just thought you were better. Anyhow, for me and my clients, mobile features is the key ... sure, there are work arounds, but it also means much more work compared to just use active sync (as from what I can tell not having ever tried it).
It sure is a pitty
