I filed a bug on this (
Bug 36961 – Better spreadsheet editing.) and was wondering if anybody out there could tell me what is wrong. When I create a page under the Documents tab and insert an embedded spreadsheet into it while in FF I can not use the arrows or simply type data into a cell. I am forced to double click on the cell and then start typing which really limits the speed at which I am able to produce a page which requires a spreadsheet. I am running GA 6.0.3 OSS now. This has been a problem since 5.0 and it seems to be the last issue I am having with Zimbra which is preventing me from deploying it and moving on to NE for various clients.
Am I missing something? Is there some sort of plugin I don't have or overlooked? Maybe there is some sort of FF option in order to get the embedded spreadsheet to work properly? In IE (various versions) the embedded spreadsheet works great. I can use arrows and enter data just as someone might in Openoffice Calc or MS Excel. Unfortunately this isn't the case for Firefox, Safari, and Chrome.
I only ask because I am trying to eliminate everything I can from client systems and force people into using only the web interface. I would also like to migrate clients over to Debian and use FF to access the web client ONLY. This would be an amazing solution for many of my clients.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As I said: I filed a bug for it already. I closed it after almost 8 months passed and nothing was done about it, but then reopened it after someone said theirs was working. This seems to be the last issue I am having with Zimbra overall and would really love any solution possible for it. I know they are working on Briefcase spreadsheets and documents, but the ability to share the Documents folders with external users is a must feature for me since external users can view shared Documents folders as web pages and print them.
By the way, the new spreadsheet editor seems to work fine. I can enter data and use the arrows in FF. The embedded one is the one I really need to work.
Thank you.
