Default SMTP: Can't Send Email from Gmail

I am a homestead user and have been using Gmail as my email client for some time. Two weeks ago, Gmail wouldn't send my @mydoman.com email anymore. I attempted to edit the account using all outgoing ports and get the following error messages:

Port 587: Authentication failed. Please check your username/password.
[Server response: 454 TLS not available due to local problem code(454) ]

Port 465: Your other email provider is responding too slowly. Please try again later, or contact the administrator of your other domain for further information.

Port 25: Authentication failed. Please check your username/password.
[Server response: 454 TLS not available due to local problem code(454) ]

I emailed Homestead asking what "Local Problem" meant and they said it was a gmail problem. Ugh! Can anyone help???

If those errors are from gmail then I'd think that Homestead support is correct and you need to contact gmail to resolve the problem. See if you can telnet to those ports from your PC by doing:

Code:
telnet your.mail.server 25
Also try the other ports you've listed. I don't use gmail but does it have a help desk or service status page? Whatever the source of your problem you must contact either Homestead or Google for a resolution.
