Default [SOLVED] Why the users can't edit or transfer appointment when they're just guest ?

Hi,

My new issue is the following :
When someone invite you to an appointment and you wan't another Zimbra user comes, why is this impossible in Zimbra to transfer this invitation, or basically edit the appointment in your calendar in order to add new participants ?
My boss absolutely want to add some of my colleagues when he received an appointment from our client.

Thank you

The appointment creator is the only user with "editor" rights on the appointment.

Your boss can do two things:

In the reply to the client appointment request, ask the client to invite the additional staff, and provide their email addresses. Then the client will modify the appointment by adding those new persons.

Alternatively, the boss can just create a new appointment overlapping the client's appointment and use that to invite the additional staff.

If I am organizing a meeting, I'm not keen to allow my invitees to modify the meeting in any way without my approval, so this behaviour (to me at least) makes good sense.

Hope that helps,
Mark

ZCS 6.0.2 is supposed to allow local edits by non-organizer, and also event forwarding.

Like Mark, I'm not entirely sure this is a good thing. Nor am I going to upgrade production to 6 right away (but by Christmas, maybe).

Everybody has its personnel point of view. For my boss and my boss's clients, it is just easier to let my boss add the people he wants to join the meeting. This is just a way to work.
Thank you for the reply.
Do someone knows when the 6.02 version is gonna be available?

Bye

See pm.zimbra.com

They posted a target of October 26, and based on open/closed bug ratio, that looks possible.

Btw, in 5.0, if you forward the invite with options/include original as attachment, then the recipient's calendar will be marked. You just can't do it from the calendar app.

I agree with you that people should be able to work the way they want to work.

Sounds like you should wait for 6.0.2, and in the interim, Rich's suggestion of your boss forwarding the invite will get you and your boss what you need.

All the best,
Mark
