Default Red lines on Calendar

Is anyone else as annoyed with the addition of the red lines on the calendar? I can't stand them. My co-worker who is also trying the new version can't stand them either. I've searched for a way to turn them off but haven't found one. Am I missing it? If not, I'd love for the option to be added at some point. I know it's a small matter, but I'm picky and I admit it.

I'm not really annoyed but we had some discussions about it. Do they mean anything?

I think they are supposed to indicate times you are 'busy', but since most of my calendar (and others that have been shared to me) are all entries that are busy, those annoying red lines are everywhere. In general most entires that people do are because they are busy, so I think they are kind of pointless.
