Default Disable IM Bar

How do I disable the new IM bar at the foot of the message pane? I don't see an obvious way of doing it in the config, or on the bar itself. I value my screen space.

Thanks,
adam

you can go into admin console:
https://yourdomain:7071
in account tab, you chose your account -->edit --> feature --> uncheck instant message to disable IM feature

Thanks but it's just the IM bar I want to disable, not IM completely. Is there a way of doing this?

sorry but don't have any option to remove IM bar except you disable IM feature, but if you want, you can make some changes in source code to remove complete IM bar or you use the older version,it hasn't IM bar but has IM tab

I'd prefer to avoid hacking and rebuilding packages thanks. Does anybody else know a way of disabling this? It should be configurable, particularly when IM is still in beta.

Ack -- this feature is horrible; it takes up a whole couple of rows of email text! IM is OK if it sits unobtrusively in the corner, but especially on a laptop screen this new bar takes up an appreciable fraction of the already small reading space. This really needs to be configurable! Is there a bug I can vote for?
(btw, in general v6.0 is awesome.)
