Default Invitation "shut off"

Is there any way to turn off the sending of invitations? Sometimes it would be nice to schedule without everyone getting an invitation...calendars are checked regularly so an invitation isn't always needed (esp. for recurring meetings). Also, every time a meeting is edited (even in the comment area) a modified update is sent out to all of the invitees. It would be nice to be able to choose whether or not to send the information out again--much like when a new invitee is added to the meeting after the original meeting is scheduled. Maybe this is already available and I'm not finding the solution(s).
Using ZCS 5.0
