Too easily to accidentally erase contacts Hello Zimbra users:
I am experiencing a lot of frustration with the fact that it's way too easy to accidentally erase a contact in Address Book.
While on the phone with contacts I frequently modify Notes. The only way to edit contact information (notes, etc.) is to double-click on the contact to open its full window view. The problem is that when looking at the contact from a list (not double-clicking on it), I can highlight text as if I were able to erase it, and if I hit Delete, it deletes the entire contact, not the highlighted text. And worse still, the deleted contact doesn't go to the trash, it is deleted permanently and can't be recovered.
I see two solutions:
1) Make it impossible to delete a contact so easily. When a user tries to delete a contact, a pop-up window should ask "Do you really want to do this?"
2) Make it possible to edit text of a contact file without having to double-click on the contact. That way if I want to delete some text in Notes, the whole contact doesn't get erased - just the text I want to delete. |
