Has anything else changed on the server ? Should down ZCS then as root run /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms and then try starting ZCS again.

still the same result.... nothing was changed. i just restarted it last night then this happened after trying to restart...

[root@mailhost zimbra]# /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms
[root@mailhost ~]# su - zimbra

I also tried troubleshooting why mailboxd is not running from this Mailbox Troubleshooting - Zimbra :: Wiki

but alas it still doe snot work...it won't start mailboxd for some reason...

also, how can i backup all users and emails from console? i might just reinstall the whole thing. we've been down 1 day and nothing is working....

If you wish to do a backup the look in the wiki or search the forums for some options. You should also update your forum profile with the output of the following command (do not post it in this thread):

zmcontrol -v
What permissions do the following files have:

ls -l /opt/zimbra/log/*.pid
They should all be owned by zimbra:zimbra if they're not shutdown zimbra and modify the permissions then restart.

yes all permissions are owned by zimbra, i tried rebooting machine and still no luck....any suggestions?

anyone know how I can backup the data without the admin gui? I tried to run (as zimbra) "zmbackup -f -a all" but it's throwing an error as well: "Error occurred: Connection refused".

Any ideas? this is really impacting our business big time.
