Default cannot connect to pop/imap but can connect pops and imaps

I had to reinstall zimbra. Everything seems to be working except for pop3 and imap. Outlook cannot connect to pop3 or imap. But if I use pop3S (995) and imaps (993) it works. but for regular 110 and 143 it does not work. Proxy appears to be running also as ssl pop and imap are working.

Also, I tried telnet to 110 and 143 and it goes through so I'm sure it's not a firewall issue.... it keeps asking for password when I try POP or IMAP...

any ideas?

EDIT:

btw it is more or less a default installation. everything is working except for pop and imap access.

What is the value of:
zmprov gs `zmhostname` | grep zimbraReverseProxyImapStartTlsMode zimbraReverseProxyPop3StartTlsMode

Both should be set to on instead of only

You should be able to set it in the server settings in the admin console. Be sure to restart Zimbra so it takes effect.

You can also set it via zmprov, but it should be pretty straight forward in the admin console.

Sorry.. I didn't catch that you had the proxy enabled.

Veronica was on the right track and I threw you off.. You'll want to make sure you specify the properties posted.

thanks. so now how do i enable it? From admin POP and IMAP are already enabled. At the same time zmprov gs `zmhostname` | grep zimbraReverseProxyImapStartTlsMode shows "only".

Is there something that I'm missing? This was all working prior to a reinstall.

Oh btw, proxy is enabled as well. and I can collect POP via 995 if that makes sense...

bump anyone?? looks like the problem might be with zimbra's proxy. although in admin gui it says that it's running....if i disable it, i can connect to pop and imap....do i really need this proxy? what exactly are the benefits?

Is this a single server installation?

Please update your forum profile (don't post it in this thread) with the output of the following:

Code:
zmcontrol -v
