Default user can't accept appointments

hey all.

I have an end-user who has somehow lost the ability to accept calendar appointments. Appointments sent to this person appear as ics attachments and no accept-bar appears. He's using the web interface and we've tried several different browsers on different workstations. Long story short, my account works fine, but log out and back in as him on the same browser tab, and appointments break.

Thanks in advance.

Well, one of the problems is the lack of information you've given such as the Zimbra version. Please update your forum profile with the output of the following command:

Code:
zmcontrol -v
You don't say whether this is a recurring appointment, whether this is the only account it happens with, if it's just started happening on this account, if you searched bugzilla etc....

Here a non-exhaustive list of bugs that affect the accept button take a look at those and see if any of them relate to your problem.

  1. It happens with every type of appointment.
  2. This is the only account known to have this problem.
  3. The problem has been here for so long that it is not clear if appointments ever worked for this account.
  4. I have searched the Bugzilla and none of the bugs are exactly the same problem.
  5. The meeting shows as an ICS attachment.
  6. It is true of all meeting requests, from all users, from all browsers.
  7. Using a particular browser one can login to account "A" and meetings will work normally, but using that same browser for the same meeting, logged in as account "B" then meetings will appear as ICS attachments, without accept/decline buttons.
  8. The problem exists in both "Advanced" mode and "Standard version" of the Zimbra web client.

Is there a different way I should try to get help with this issue?

On Monday I saw a bug in buzilla that could be related, it spoke of users with a this kind of problem, but the accept buttons existed when the calendar entry was created with IE. I have since had a few of these ics emails come through showing the ics attachment but the DID have the access/decline buttons. I know that the user who created the cal entries used IE. I can not find this bug in bugzilla any more. . .

Default Same problem with ICS

I have the same problem. ICS shows up as an attachment, which zimbra doesn't know what to do with.

Default permissions

If this happens to only one user make sure they hasn't toyed with the calendar permission preferences.

Preferences -> Calendar -> permissions

I have a user with this problem too. Turns out it's because they have "View->Reading Pane" turned off (they want to double-click to open messages in a detached window), and the invite toolbar doesn't show up in detached message windows. Bug #17584, said to be fixed for v6 (but not backported to 5.x).
