Default Emails sent from Outlook 2007 get unformated on Zimbra Web interface

Hi,

Im seeing this behavior for a long time and i tried to search the forums about it but it seams no one is seeing this issue like we do. Wen a user writes a email on Outlook for instance 3 lines like this:

Code:
Hi,

line1
line2
line3

Bye.
On the Zimbra web interface it will look something like this:

Code:
Hi,

line1

line2

line3

bye.
is there any option that we can change on the interface or Outlook to stop this behavior? This are HTML emails.

Thank you.

Unfortunately Outlook 2007 composes HTML email with Word 2007 which generates HTML email that may not render as you might expect on anything but an Outlook or Word 2007.

I would bet that if you pull the source for that message out and view it on a standards compliant browser you'll get the same results.

Interesting stuff about Microsoft breaking HTML standards in email here:

Interesting, I just saw this when looking for explanation of why calendar appointment descriptions in HTML have "random" chunks of text removed when created in ZCO (Outlook 2007) and viewed by invitees in web client. (I can reliably reproduce the scenario where text will be removed by using some text modification like italics, bold, or underline (for example) in the appointment description, but I can't reliably predict exactly what words will go missing.)

I noticed this only when testing 6.0.4, so thought it was a bug in 6.0x at first, but then your post helped me realize that it was more likely the fact that I was now testing a system using Outlook 2007 and I'm more used to 2003. NRC, do you think the change in Outlook 2007 HTML composition is the most likely culprit here?

Thanks!
