Resource Accounts as Personas?

My apologies if this has already been discussed.

We have accounts that are set up as resources instead of aliases, because we want them to have their own mailboxes. Some of these resource mailboxes are managed by only one person, who is responsible for checking and replying to messages. The managers of these accounts would like the ability to do this in Outlook (using the Zimbra connector) while assuming the identity of the resource when sending from or replying to messages in the resource accounts. They do not want their real name or email addresses to appear in such correspondence. Right now, the only options are to have them log into the resource account via the web, or set up the resource as a separate account in Outlook using IMAP.

Is it only possible to use aliases as Personas, or is there something that I'm missing in setting up a resource as one?
