Default Copied e-mail messages get current date/time

While usingTthunderbird as a conduit for copying email from my old IMAP server to my shiny new Zimbra server, I noticed that the message list view in Zimbra webmail showed all imported items as having today's date. While viewing the same Zimbra folder via IMAP, the dates are correct and sort properly. Seems they're only screwed-up in the webmail interface.

Anyone have any ideas on a better way to import old e-mails so that the Receive date is correct in the webmail interface?

I actually had the same exact problem!

I've noticed it's just with Thunderbird, and not Outlook. I wish I could say I found a solution, but my solution was the WebUI's wonderful search feature.

Default Reindex

Looks like reindexing the account fixes the dates.

How exactly did you reindex? Trying to find the details, but looks like I need to change my eyeballs as they're failing me somewhat!

It's in the Admin UI under the Account details, top of the screen.

Thanks Bill,

I wasn't looking within the users account. I've booked my opticians appointment.

I've just built a new zimbra box on SUSE10 and copied the mail from the original CentOS box via Thunderbird. I saw that all the mail had received date of today, so I reindexed the mailbox. Problem is that it hasn't changed a thing Am I missing a trick here or is this the way it's going to stay?

Good question. It appeared to fix the dates on my system, but I didn't really go back and verify as I have about 1GB of data just in my mailbox.
