What do you mean by ZCM, the Zimbra Collaboration Suite of Zimbra Desktop?

The answer to your question is yes you can download email from an external server and store them in your Zimbra account. Is that what you're trying to do? Do you have Zimbra currently installed? If you do the settings are on the user preferences tab under Accounts then Add External Account.

Yes, you can do that. Look at the location of the settings that I gave in the last post.

I've also tried to setup Zimbra to use an external email provider like described above. The only provider that works for me is gmail.com but other providers like GMX.net gives me errors with Zimbra 6.0beta2 when i do a connection test.

GMX.net Pop3 shows me:
Quote:
leaving messages on server requires support for UIDL
Our other e-mail provider gives me:
Quote:
"SSL peer shut down incorrectly"
These e-mail providers works well with Zimbra Desktop, is this a bug in ZCS beta?

BTW: What is the difference between the way described above to get e-mails from an external provider and using fetchmail? Does the accounts configured in the preferences tab of the users also go through Amavis/ClamAV?
