Default Filters

Do I have to create all of my mail filters for my web version and my desktop version of Zimbra? I spent many hours creating filters for my desktop client, and noticed none of the transferred to my online version on the web. Arent these filters supposed to be stored on the server?

Thanks

You shouldn't have to re-create your filters in the web-client. I started out using the web client and when I switched to trying ZD all my filters were there. I just tested the opposite; created a filter in Zimbra Desktop and it showed up when I logged into the web-client.

Were you off-line when you created the filters?

I was online the entire time. I use a wireless connection to a cable modem. So I'm always on. If that were the case I would think the filters would synchronize after I regained a connection anyway.

Synchronising filters from the ZD to the server also works for me. Do you have any filters already in the Web UI? If not, try creating one and see if it sync to the desktop and your others they sync after that.

Yeah I seem to have 2 sets of filters. One for the ZD and one for the Web I. I would have to think that the Web Interface is reading off of the server to get my filters, since I wouldn't presume it could store them as cookies. So Its strange that my desktop app inst seeing them too. Could this be a setting on the Zimbra server, to not store filters locally?

Filters will be synchronised between the ZD & Web UI and vice versa. If I create a filter in ZD on a new empty account that exists on the server it gets synchronised to the server - there's only one set of filters. Which version of ZD & Zimbra server are you using?

We are using server version zcs-5.0.14_GA_2850.UBUNTU8_64 and the absolute latest downloaded version of the desktop for windows. I just deleted all of my filters in the web version. I then restarted the web gui and the desktop gui. all of the deleted filters did not delete anything from the desktop version. All of the filters web version remained deleted.
