Default 3rd party antivirus program

Hi,

Can someone recommend me a 3rd party antivirus that can work seamlessly with Zimbra and any instructions to install it?

Thanks.

Do you mean you want something in addition to the currently installed anti-virus software? Is there something wrong with the Zimbra anti-virus?

Hi ,

Nothing wrong with the clamav antivirus. Was thinking of a commercial one like Symantec or Trendmicro. An addon or stop running clamav and use another antivirus will do for me.

I know clamav is free but i just want to know alternatives.

We've not integrated any other antivirus products. Most customers are happy with ClamAV. We have had a few customers use their current AV/AS software or hosted service. They just run the AV/AS software on a border MTA in front of our postfix. This seems to work well.

Hello,

i have install AntiVir, BitDefender and F-Prot. The zimbra-amavis detect these scanner and used them.
AntVir and BitDefender are primary scanner, clamav and F-Prot as secondary scanner.

Hello,

Can anyone explain this in detail how to configure those 3rd party commercial software into Zimbra?

We know that ClamAV is good, and just hope to get one more solution to increase the security level.

Actually, checking /opt/zimbra/conf/amavis.conf, it looks like there's some configuration there for other anti-virus software integration, just don't have any idea the detailed steps to enable them ? (of course, those commercial antivirus software should be installed first.)

any advice on this? Thanks.

Simple, just delete the remark statements from in front of the AV scanner you wish to use in /opt/zimbra/conf/amavisd.conf.in and then restart ZCS. It will then pick up your scanner for use.

Hi,

I know it's an old thread, but I'm interested how to integrate a 3-rd party scanner (eventually in Security Settings).
Is it possible to create a zimlet that would allow choosing between Amavis and other antispam /antivirus solution that supports Postfix (altering zmmta.conf, providing an option in Security Settings to choose scanner, enable/disable, etc) ?
Thank you!
