Default question about free/busy times

Users keep asking if this possible and keep throwing out the "well exchange does it like that". We really like zimbra and want to prevent these users from heading back to exchange. So any help/ideas would be appreciated.

What they would like to see when scheduling a meeting while looking at free/busy times is the ability to see some detail about a users calendar. When they hover of their own time it gives some detail about what the appointment is for. When they hover over a users calendar even if they have shared access to the users calendar they don't get any details it just show's the time as being blocked out.

Also when that users marks a meeting as private it disappears so others can't see it and shows them as free. I've been told it should show as buys/unavailable with a lock icon.

Thanks.

I think these bugs cover at least part of what you're asking about:

Bug 26960 – Outlook fb shows busy or free, not tentative or OOF
Bug 20067 – outlook/zco does not show tentative and out of office time in different shades

I think they should possibly be merged but I went ahead and voted for both of them.

Are you asking about the web client or Outlook with the ZCO? The web client seems to behave as you'd like.

Ah, now I see what he's talking about. However, it works for me in the web client. That is: if someone has shared their calendar with me and I've accepted the share, then hovering over their busy time gives the title of the appointment, provided it's not private.

If it is private, I still see the time blocked out. Doesn't matter if they've shared their calendar with me or not.

Note that entire calendars can be excluded from free/busy. Is it possible they're putting private events on separate calendars? Individual events can also be created that don't count as "busy".

So at least on the version I'm running, everything's working fine. About the only thing I could ask for would be, if I have read privileges to someone's calendar, then it'd be nice to get the detailed popup whether or not I've actually got the share mounted.

There's a bugzilla entry for the original poster's request: Bug 36655 – Free/Busy doesn't show when the calendar has been shared but not mounted.
