Default Suggest alternative appointment time

Hi,
some users miss a functionality of Outlook/Exchange: there it was possible not only to accept or decline an appointment, but to suggest an alternative appointment time/date.

Anyone else misses this? Is this planned?

I assume you want this instead of:
-'Edit reply' to the invite "This time works better for me", then the person has to confer, adjust, etc.
-You going to the calendar and creating a "Could we move this meeting here?" invite.

ie: You want an another button under tentive called 'suggest time/date' that would notify the creator (so they can accept/decline the change) or even insert "User __ would perfer x time/date" into the notes portion of the sharer's calendar event itself if you have manager rights.

Don't see an RFE open on it, go ahead and file it in bugzilla.

Note, it looks like the Zimbra Outlook Connector disables this feature in Outlook.

Basically the way it works is, there's a button that gives you two options (via a popdown): mark tentative and propose new time, or decline and propose new time. So it takes the action you choose and then basically generates a new meeting proposal with all the guests filled in, and goes straight to the scheduling context. Then you can locate an alternate time that works for everyone and send it.

I think the reason that it's disabled in Zimbra is, it doesn't actually send the proposal to all the guests, just the original creator. And then if the creator likes the alternative, he just has to click one button to accept it, and another to send an update to all the guests.

So I agree this would be a nice feature both to have in ZWC/ZDC and to have restored in Outlook. If Bernhard doesn't open an RFE, I will.

Elliot, please do so. I don't have Outlook available any more to test what it does. I will vote for this as soon as you've filed it.

Okay: Bug 36572 - support "propose alternate time" feature (iTIP COUNTER/DECLINE-COUNTER)

Turns out this is a duplicate of Bug 35033 - Support iCalendar COUNTER method
