Default Identifying accidental deletions

Sometimes I accidentally delete an email that's been sitting in my inbox for a while. Maybe I hit Delete one too many times while getting rid of unwanted emails, or maybe I just hit Delete instead of New accidentally.

If I didn't get a glance at the subject line when that occurs, and I don't happen to just remember it, then it is essentially lost forever even though I know it's just sitting in my trash. If it was a week old, I'd have to go through a ton of mail to (maybe) recognize it. And I dont' know how old it is if I don't know what it was about.

What I'm wondering is if there is any way to sort by Time Deleted, or a way to Undo a recent action, or something else that would allow me to get a handle on such an email.
